I'm Carla, a Certified Public Accountant with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
I prepare people's taxes and calm their anxiety, but can't lift my own glass of water. This
form of Muscular Dystrophy limits virtually all movement. I can
operate my computer with ONE finger on a touch pad. And …..that's
about it !
One need I had seemed simple enough - a long drinking straw and holder to gain a little independence. With imagination and contact with some very talented people, and lots of research and testing, I FINALLY have answers.
NOW I use the 27-inch flexible long drinking straw, cut to just the right length, held in place with a unique clip, sitting in a drink in a special holder placed wherever I need.
Sipping is possible any time I choose ! !
Imagine! wanting something to drink and sipping it when you are ready! Independence is awesome !
